Meet Your Graduates: Congrats to the 7th Cohort of Vocational Training Students!
On February 8, 2025, Uniting Distant Stars held their 7th Commencement Ceremony for the 2024 Vocational Training Students. 30 students received diplomas in Catering, Computers, Electrician, Event Decoration, and Tailoring.

Some students postponed the ceremony twice for various reasons such as wanting a certain pair of shoes or hosting their party the same day. Other students wanted to graduate and move forward with their lives. Leadership agreed with the latter, and half of the students did not participate. Those who missed the ceremony can pick up their diplomas at any time.
The graduates led the program and invited Kelvin Fomba, UDS Co-Founder/Director to be the guest speaker. Kelvin advised them to remember their classmates as friends and recommend them for jobs. Myrtle S Toe, UDS Business Manager/Registrar, spoke later in the program. She shared her journey of graduating from UDS with a hotel management diploma in 2019. She talked about volunteering to get experience and find ways to give back to UDS.
The students who graduated were overjoyed and grateful for the opportunity to learn trade skills. Each student received their diploma in the UDS branded cover and souvenir program.
