A warm welcome to our 7th cohort of vocational training students

We held a welcome session for our new vocational training students on Thursday, January 4, 2024. This group is our 7th cohort of students since we became an official training center in 2017. The turnout was less than the number of students enrolled in our program. Many spent time with their families over the holidays outside Monrovia, and not everyone has yet returned to the city.

Currently, the students are enrolled in Auto Mechanics, Catering, Computers, Cosmetology, Electrician, Event Decoration, and Satellite TV/Solar Installation. Recruitment is ongoing if you want to enroll in one of our courses. Please call +231-770-672-461, +231-880-892-801, or +231-770-797-061 to learn more. The first orientation is on Monday, January 8, 2024, and training starts on Wednesday, January 10, 2024.

Kelvin Fomba, co-founder/ director (brown shirt and pants), welcomed the students.

During the welcome session, some students expressed their hesitation about enrolling. One shared that this was his third school because others had misled them on costs and did not receive the promised training. Kelvin Fomba, co-founder and director, understood their concerns and explained what they should expect during their training journey. He gave an example of how our program is different. He compared how other schools separate each Microsoft application as a course and charge more for tuition. In contrast, Uniting Distant Star trains the entire office suite as a single computer course.
