Uniting Distant Stars Academy 5th Graduation Ceremony on July 1, 2023

It is time to end another academic year with our 5th graduation ceremony on Saturday, July 1, 2023. After serving children from other schools with academic scholarships and supply drives, we opened our doors to young students in 2018. We started with pre-school to sixth grades and expanded to junior high in the coming years.

Here are some of the Uniting Distant Stars Academic Students. The students in blue vests are ninth graders.

The program celebrates all students being promoted to the next grade level. It also honors students graduating from K2 (Kindergarten 2), sixth and ninth grades. The students, parents/guardians, staff, and special guests enjoy this fun-filled celebration.

Here is the general layout of the celebration:

  • The class sponsor, one of the teachers, presents their students and announces they are ready to graduate.
  • K2 and ninth-grade students wear caps and gowns, while the sixth-grade students wear a tailored made Lappa Suit.
  • Each graduate receives a certificate.
  • The students provide entertainment with dramas (plays), singing, and other talents.

The 2022/2023 9th graders are sitting in their classroom during a lecture.

On Sunday, July 2, 2023, the staff and parents hold the final 2022/2023 PTA meeting. During the meeting, the parents receive the report cards and announcements related to the next academic year. With the expected elections in October, it is unclear if the school will reopen in September. For now, we wait until the Ministry of Education issues a statement about the 2023/2024 academic calendar.
