Our New Academic Year Kicks Off This September

Our Liberian Team is excited to welcome students back to school, though it’s bittersweet as some won’t return. During the school break, an investor forcibly displaced several families by destroying their zinc homes to build something else. Many students, now relocated, came to us in tears, wishing to stay. Sadly, we lack the space and resources for a dormitory. This heartbreaking situation highlights the ongoing struggles of everyday people in Liberia.

As our team wiped away their tears, they worked hard in August to paint and clean up the center. Kelvin Fomba, UDS Co-Founder and Director, designed new images highlighting our academic and vocational training programs. His team consisted of current students: Blessing Boe, Lawrence Freeman, Zack Tate, and Johnny Yorpoi.

Academic students attend orientation on September 2 and start classes on September 9.
