Celebrating Milestones: UDS Academy’s 7th Annual Graduation 🎉

On July 19, 2025, Uniting Distant Stars (UDS) Academy proudly hosted its 7th Annual Academic Graduation Ceremony, a day marked by joy, pride, and a strong sense of community spirit. This year, under new Ministry of Education guidelines, only Kindergarten 2 (K2) and 12th-grade students were officially recognized for graduation. However, our dedicated parents advocated for the inclusion of 6th and 9th graders, and their voices were heard.

Thanks to their initiative, these students were honored with certificates and congratulatory sashes, which were funded entirely by their parents. While our K2 graduates donned the traditional cap and gown, our 6th and 9th graders dressed in their finest attire, continuing a tradition of pride and dignity. In previous years, these students wore African suits, and this year’s celebration maintained that spirit of cultural pride.

Our guest speaker, Mr. Roosevelt Fornati Hanky, a respected figure from the Liberia Revenue Authority, presented certificates to students in K2, 6th, and 9th grades. His presence and words of encouragement added a special touch to the ceremony.

The following day, July 20, marked our final PTA meeting of the 2024/2025 academic year. Parents received their children’s report cards, and the atmosphere was filled with gratitude and mutual appreciation between staff and families. Students proudly shared their promotion pages on social media, celebrating their academic progress.

As we look ahead to the 2025/2026 school year, we are thrilled to welcome our first-ever 12th-grade class—students who have grown with UDS and will now lead the way for future senior classes.

We extend heartfelt thanks to our incredible team: Kelvin Fomba (Co-Founder, Director, and Teacher), Myrtle S. Toe (Registrar), our dedicated teachers and staff, and especially Manfred Gibson, Jr., who beautifully captured the event through his photography.

Together, we continue to nurture dreams and build futures. 🌟
