Recap of 1/28/23 Virtual Tea Time Featuring Catering and Computer Students & Instructors

We wanted to give a recap of January 28 Virtual Tea Time. This was an exclusive event for one, our board treasurer Paul Ostrow. After a short introduction of all the attendees, we moved to the "Q & A" portion.

One of the questions asked was what challenges they face. Frank Tugbeh, catering instructor), mentioned that some schools charge more money but don't teach the students the skills. So, when they graduate, they receive a diploma but don't know how to be a caterer. Frank shared how this spoils the profession for everyone else. Both catering students, Odell N. Gbehngeh and Beauty Kollie, mentioned that the cost of transportation is their major challenge. Additionally, Mohammed Gbettu (computer alum and current staff) shared that most computer students don't own computers to practice what they learn at home. In the future, we will share short clips of some of the answers from our youth.
